How we measure your child's learning
Tracking Children’s Progress, the National Curriculum advocates a mastery approach to teaching and
learning. Schools are expected to track ‘depth of understanding’ against age
related descriptors. Our tracking uses a three point grading to reflect ‘depth of
understanding’ against the yearly programmes of study. MET is the
standard that children are expected to reach at the end of each year. GDS (Greater Depth) recognises the deeper understanding of a year’s concepts by
higher attainers. WTS (Working towards) recognises that a child is working towards the age related expectation of that year group.
